Celebrating spring together

We're one big family at IT Society, and this spring we came together to celebrate with an evening of delicious food, meaningful conversation, and community. Members, friends, and newcomers filled the tables, catching up over dinner before the main event of the night.

Fireside chat: Leading Tech in the AI Era

Our guest was Ganesh Ramanarayanan, a seasoned engineering leader with 17 years of experience helping startups scale into industry leaders. He has held leadership roles at Google, Pure Storage, Notion, and Hex, leading growth, infrastructure, reliability, and product innovation through pivotal stages of expansion. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University.

Ganesh brings a deep appreciation for both great products and strong systems, and believes the best technology leaders know how to balance the two. In the conversation, he shared his perspective on:

• How companies are adapting to the AI era • The skills engineers need to stay ahead • The do's and don'ts of being the “n+1” decision-maker • Practical examples of balancing product priorities with technical tradeoffs

Guests sent in their own questions throughout the evening, which kept the discussion practical and grounded in the challenges our members face every day.
